Artists Statement:

I tried to submit examples that reflect a cross section of my current work. I use my traditional training and historical silversmithing tools in ways that express my undying curiosity and fascination with the movement of metal. Chasing, forging, spinning, raising - all critical skills necessary to achieve fluidity of form.

Artist Biography:

Metalsmithing has been both my full time vocation and hobby for the majority of my life. At a young age I had the unique privilege of working in a high paced silversmithing studio that produced nationally sought after hollow ware and flatware. After working with some of this nations most gifted masters, I set out on my own, eventually working with the same centuries old tools I was originally trained with. I continue to use traditional techniques while exploring contemporary themes. The modernist artists working in wood, ceramic, metal and architecture influenced me greatly. Shape, form and function continue to be the centerpiece of my design focus.
