Having started my artistic career wanting to illustrate children’s books, my pieces always tell a story, a visual haiku. This piece is all about the mystery of what lies behind the garden gate. Even once you have opened the gate it still may not be clear! The story is there for the viewer to interpret with multiple elements to intrigue, cute with just a bit of sinister! The found object actually found me, rolling out of a bag and into my lap as I was designing the piece. The rest of the piece fell together around it, using almost everything in the kit.
