Artists Statement:

My work is about the experience of travel and finding familiarity in the foreign. The urban landscape intrigues me. Architecture, exposed infrastructure, and human influence on the environment inform my work. My process involves both physical and aesthetic exploration. I create line drawings on site at locations with architecture or perspective that inspires me. I then transform the scenery in these drawings into three dimensions using wire as line and a system of forced perspective. As I observe and learn from the landscape, the work I produce becomes a fluid and cohesive portrait of a place.
