For this challenge I was inspired by mechanical wooden toys. I chose to create a flower that would "grow"; with the push of a lever. In this way I combined the botanical theme of my practice with the theme of this challenge. My found object is an anodized aluminum flower from a series of samples I made. This brooch has an unconventional double pin back to ensure the jewellery remains securely fastened should the wearer choose to demonstrate the kinetic qualities of the brooch.
